We’ve introduced a reading scheme in our boy’s school where we read to them a work of fiction or autobiographies for 15 minutes each morning. Some teenagers have never been read to which is so very sad. It’s really helping with their literacy. It’s also a joy to do for us adults. I love the look of wonder in the kids’ eyes when they are enjoying a text and discovering new worlds through the pages of text that they follow as we read.
